I started a train layout……

May 31, 2023

And yes it’s centered around my fictional giant breasts fantasy world.

This sort of brings up the question of what is socially acceptable in a hobby that is heavily based in real world places and with real world things. A lot of model railroaders are deep into specific time periods where every single thing must be about that time. From the types of cars, the types of lights the types of buildings etc etc. All of that is fine but what if you aren’t modeling a specific time and place? Some people do freelance type railroads that are kind of based loosely on real things. There is some acceptance for these people but but they seem to be a little on the outside of the main group of train enthusiasts.

Now.. in my case it’s a freelance railroad, in a space colony, that is heavy on gigantic breasts culture. How well ( or not) would that be received? Dunno, but time will tell. My plan is to share the naughty parts with you all. And share the not so naughty parts with the model railroading community.

So here’s some info about my railroad. Firstly, it’s N scale. I used to be into HO when I was a kid and it was great and all…… until I tried to build a freight car yard on my 9×9 layout. The top most yard track could barely fit ONE box car. It was then I realized I wanted more room. Around that time N scale had kind of started getting it’s feet in the train community, so I decided to switch. My first attempt unfortunately never took off cause I didn’t really know what I wanted for a track plan. Then life happened.

Now maybe 20 years later, I’m back in it. And this time with a clear vision of the fantasy railroad empire I wanted. Doing things like this is so much easier when you have an established world to fit it into. And because I’m doing a bit of reality bending ANYWAY…. fitting a railroad into a space colony can work. Without going into all the nuts and bolts, the loco’s burn clean fuel and the railroad has a nice 114 miles to cover.  Just right for a short line. For those who know what Zeta-C looks like, it’s roughly the same size as Elysium and the circumference of that station is about 114 miles. I had to make some changes however to get a railroad to make fictional sense  though.

Anyway Stay tuned and I’ll try to keep you all up to date on my progress. I may also start a Youtube page to cover the less risque aspects of the layout. I’ll think about it.
